On May 1, 2019, CCIH participated in the Interfaith Working Group for Foreign Assistance Faith Leader Fly-In where faith leaders meet with Congressional offices to highlight the importance of preserving and expanding these life-saving initiatives. Dr. Perry Jansen, Senior Vice President of Strategic Partnerships with MedSend (shown above with Senator James Risch, R-ID) and Jim Oehrig, Vice President of Integral Mission with American Leprosy Missions represented CCIH and met with several Congressional Offices from the Idaho and South Carolina delegations.

The purpose of the fly-in was to educate Members of Congress and their staff about foreign assistance programs and highlight the return on investment of these interventions, which save lives and preserve human dignity. These meetings enable CCIH members to share their faith perspective to Members of Congress, encourage their continued support for foreign assistance programs and lift up the work of their organizations.
