World Vision will also continue to encourage policy makers on a local, national and international level to develop policies and programs that help their citizens prevent new infections and provide the best care possible to those living with or affected by HIV/AIDS. In doing so, World Vision seeks to reduce the stigma and marginalization of those with AIDS and protect the rights of women and children who are especially vulnerable to contracting and being affected by HIV/AIDS.

In the US, the average weekly allowance for a child is $5.82. That’s more than the entire annual health care budget per person in Kenya ($5).

Working closely with the policy makers themselves, we will build on programs of prevention and care for those affected by HIV/AIDS that have proven effective elsewhere.
