  • CCIH Annual Conference, May 29, 2005
2
Why Mapping?
  • Other Agencies recognize the need to work with and through FBO networks. For example:
    • WHO service availability mapping (SAM)
    • (IHP) African Religious Health Assets Project
    • USAID, World Bank, etc.
    • Pharmaceutical companies (e.g. Pfizer provided an initial grant for funding GRHAM project)
3
Goals of GRHAM
  • Centralize documentation and maps of FBO facilities, programs and projects.
  • Create and manage a website and database to share that information as widely as possible
  • Train and encourage GRHAM users to:
    • Dialogue with Ministries of Health and major donors
    • Improve coordination among service providers
    • Provide better data for planning
    • Facilitate distribution of resources to FBOs
4
Who Benefits from GRHAM?
5
Implementation
a dual-track approach
  • 1. Sharing available data by Country, Organization, Programs

  • 2. Defining the scope:  outputs, type of data, definition of terms

  • Developing the database

  • Develop strategy for obtaining information

  • Develop strategy for training  and encouraging GRHAM users in using the database
