Christian Connections for International Health CCIH is looking for a Web Developer Intern/Volunteer (called ‘intern’ for the purposes of this announcement) to support the CCIH website. The major responsibility of the intern will be to develop a plan to organize and/or restructure the back-end of the website and to implement that plan, where possible. Other web-related goals include creating a mapping feature and a password protected job portal and updating the web administrators’ manual. Qualified candidates will have expertise with HTML, familiarity with open-source content management systems, excellent English written and oral communication and advanced computer skills. This position is not supported by office space or equipment so candidates must be able to work independently, with a minimum of supervision and must have access to needed equipment. The position is unpaid but interns may be able to receive academic credit for their experience as well as membership in CCIH. Christian Medical Institute of the Kasai (IMCK) is a multi-service health complex located in Tshikaji, 9 miles from Kananga. Founded in 1954 by Presbyterian missionaries, IMCK offers the multi-bed Bon Berger hospital, serves as a training site for Congolese doctors, offers a nursing school, OB/Gyn programs, ophthalmology and dentistry. Location: Parroquia Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe, Vicariato Apostolico de Zamora, Guadalupe, Provincia Zamora-Chinchipe, Ecuador Mission: The Clinica Misional Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe is a rural health care center in southeastern Ecuador. It is located on the grounds of a Catholic Mission in the tropical cloud forest of the Oriente. It serves a culturally diverse impoverished indigenous population. The facility has examining rooms, dental suites with x-ray, an operating theater, pharmacy and basic laboratory. There is a hospital about one hour away. The clinic is staffed full time by an international multi faith group of medical volunteers. Primary care physicians are asked to serve at least one month and have remained for up to one year. Surgeons and other specialists come for two to six weeks as necessary, and are expected to be accompanied by whatever support personnel that they deem appropriate. Dentists and dental technicians visit for at least three weeks, and are welcome to stay longer. There are also opportunities for teaching in the schools and for mobile health fairs. Travel is not reimbursed but room and board are covered once at the venue, with volunteer residences overlooking the Andes. There is also an apartment for a family. A working knowledge of Spanish is essential. Eastern Mennonite Missions (EMM), an evangelical Anabaptist mission agency committed to going where the church is...not yet and initiating movements to Jesus, seeks applicants for a health professional in Guinea-Bissau, West Africa. Village fellowships emerged here after EMM missionaries began work in 2005. Workers say, “Hunger for the gospel is amazing!” Work also includes development in agriculture, education, job creation, and most recently health services. The following position is being sought for the Guinea-Bissau mission. The mission there also has a need for a short-term medical professional to serve from August 1-December 31, 2011. Additional personnel needs include agriculture, primary education and small scale entrepreneurship. Job Summary: As a member of the Senior Management Team, the incumbent will assit the President/CEO in accomplishing the Vision, Mission, and Strategic Objectives of IMA World Health. Primary responsibilities include providing technical, operational and management leadership to the Program Department and the country offices; Supervising the HQ Director of Programs, and country directors, trouble-shooting operational challenges and ensuring that all overseas programs are on track to meet donor requirements.
In addition, the incumbent will provide overall leadership to shape the organization's role in global health through: developing and managing policies and strategies that pre-position IMA World Health as a credible leader in the reduction of the global health burden due to the diseases of poverty; participating in policy discussions on global health issues (e.g. AIDS, TB and malaria); representing IMA in various fora and with various stakeholders.

Effectively supports implementation of the project vision; provides guidance and assistance in reporting, documentation and knowledge management; supports evaluation and monitoring and evaluation; identifies opportunities and prepares proposals; and liaises with donors, and partners. Promotes an atmosphere of trust and mutual respect.
Qualifications (Required):
1. Masters level degree in health or related field.
2. Experience as a project manager working in international health.
3. Experience supervising professional and support staff in a multicultural, multi-linguistic environment.
4. Demonstrated performance as a decision-maker with excellent interpersonal skills and capable of directing and managing change, inspiring teamwork and high performing teams.
5. Demonstrated leadership in working with host country officials from the health, community, NGO/FBO/CBO sectors.
6. Ability to speak, read and write French and English.
