Emergency in the memo line. Checks can be put in the church's offering plate
or mailed to UMCOR, PO Box 9068, New York, NY 10087
100% of gifts made to this advance will go to help the people of Haiti.
UMCOR Sager Brown is coordinating a shipment of health kits to provide
individuals with basic necessities. Instructions for assembling and shipping
health kits are available at
http://new.gbgm-umc.org/umcor/getconnected/supplies/health-kit/.
Please pray for all of the people affected by the earthquake in Haiti. Thank
you for your faithful support for all of Gods children.
There will be a great need for volunteers to help rebuild once the initial
crisis has settled. At this time, it is not safe or possible for volunteers
to go to Haiti. In order to frame a response that is consistent with the
churches needs, people wishing to volunteer should contact their
jurisdictional Volunteer in Mission coordinator to determine when and how to
appropriately respond.

International Medical Relief
http://www.imrhq.org
International Medical Relief is currently mobilizing medical relief teams to
go into Haiti to respond to the
earthquake devastation. We need your help. We are a member of the
International Disaster Response Network currently setting up our
infrastructure in Haiti. If you would like to help our efforts here is how:
TO APPLY AS A VOLUNTEER RESPONDER:
Are interested in joining in this effort? We will be rotating medical and
nonmedical relief volunteers into the area on an ongoing basis. A limited
number of participants will be able to be selected based on our capabilities
on the ground. To volunteer, contact us at marylou at imrhq.org to request an
application. Here, you will get your name or your group added to our list of
potential volunteers. Please provide us with as much information as you can
about you or your group. After getting the application, complete it and
email us back your COMPLETED application. Applications will be accepted once
all of the required information is provided. All volunteers - medical and
nonmedical are required to complete the application. Volunteers will be
required to provide a donation of $100 for their participation to go toward
ground transportation and fees associated with the team on the ground. The
donation will vary depending on the number of days that a volunteer will be
participating. Your participation is not guaranteed until your application
is received, reviewed and you are accepted to participate.
DONATING TO HAITI
If you are able to donate to our Disaster Relief efforts please fill out the
attached form or contact marylou at imrhq.org; we guarantee that 100 percent of
your funds will go toward this cause. Thank you for your consideration to
help save lives in Haiti.
