Earlier this week we sent a notice about some staff members in Haiti who had
not been heard from. Updates are listed below. Please feel free to send
information about other staff members of organizations who have not been
heard of or have been injured so that we can pray for them.

UMC/UMCOR – An earlier report that the three UMC colleagues were rescued was
premature – we apologize for the misinformation. Sadly the United Methodist
Church has just announced that Sam Dixon, UMCOR Director, passed away before
he could be rescued from the wreckage of the Hotel Montana . For a link,
please go to
http://gbgm-umc.org/global_news/full_article.cfm?articleid=5629. Please
remember Sam’s family in your prayers as well as the UMCOR and UMC staff who
will miss his leadership in this crucial time. Both Jim Gulley, an UMCOR
consultant, and Clint Rabb, director of Volunteers in Mission, have returned
to the US. Both need your prayers for injuries sustained.

Jhpiego - Jhpiego reports that all of their staff in Haiti have been
accounted for. See
http://releases.jhu.edu/2010/01/15/jhpiego-frontline-health-workers-safe-in-
haiti.

IMA World Health – US Based staff members Sarla Chand, Rick Santos and Ann
Varghese were rescued from the Hotel Montana and have returned to the US.
They do not appear to have sustained serious injury although did have a
traumatic experience. Please pray for their recovery and a chance to rest.
All Haitian staff have now been located and are ok but now need your prayers
because the work that it ahead of them is great. See www.imaworldhealth.org
for updates.

Compassion International – Dan Woolley has been rescued, is receiving
medical care and will soon be traveling back to the US
(http://www.compassion.com/sponsordonor/dan-woolley). There does not appear
to be news yet of David Hames who was working with Dan as a contracted
videographer. Please pray for Dan’s recovery and for news of David. Please
remember their families.
