[CCIH-Haiti] Volunteer list of qualified orthopaedic surgeons from the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons

Please find attached a list of highly qualified Orthopaedic Surgeons who are
willing and able to volunteer their services to the ongoing Haiti relief
effort. This list comes from The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons
(www.aaos.org).   

 

This information comes from Lisa Cohen, Manager, International Education
Programs for AAOS. The list will be updated daily. 

 

This CCIH Haiti listserv will not be sending out the daily list but we do
invite you to contact Ms. Cohen if you would like to receive her messages
and future lists directly.

 

This is an excerpt of Ms. Cohen’s message, which was forwarded to us on
Thursday (sorry for the delay in transmitting it) so the list we are sending
will probably not be the latest one. However, this list will give you an
idea of the caliber of volunteers you may expect to find through AAOS.  

 

 

The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons is the largest member based
medical association dedicated to serving the profession of orthopaedics,
champion the interests of patients, and advancing the highest quality
musculoskeletal health. We have over 30,000 members worldwide, and thus far
have received well over 500 confirmed member based applicants wanting to
help in Haiti, both in the short term and for the long term.

 

I am sending to you the most current list of all interested volunteers.  As
we are getting more everyday, and to help streamline the process, we will be
sending you a complete list every evening before 4pm central time. We are
also keeping track of those physicians who have already departed for Haiti,
and therefore it will be important that you please delete the previous days
list when you receive the updated daily list.  We have also decided at this
time that we will not be sharing with you the physician passport
information.  If you require this information we are happy to forward it on
upon request. Also, please let us know if you will also require the
physicians CVs as we are keeping them on file.

 

We have notified all of the interested physicians that each aide group will
be contacting them directly and that they may be contacted by more than just
one group.  It is up to the physician to decide where his or her services
can best be used

 

We hope that you are able to use this list to find the physicians you are in
need of.  Please do not hesitate to contact our office if AAOS can be of
