HAITI MEDICAL ASSESSMENT TEAM

-----------------

Request for Participation

Global Med Partners (GMP Inc) in cooperation with Medicorps International
and the PDI Group (Project Development International) is soliciting
participating medical team members for a USAID funded medical assessment
trip to Haiti. The trip will likely be conducted in mid-February and last
about one week in duration. Dr. Ralph E. Plumb, CEO of GMP Inc. will be the
team leader. All team expenses, travel, housing etc. and a USAID approved
daily per diem rate will be covered.

The purpose of the trip is to determine the strategy, resources needed and
required service delivery elements to place multiple mobile/portable health
stations throughout the country to provide base-line primary healthcare with
a distinct rapid diagnostic capacity. These health stations will be housed
in a retrofitted 40’ shipping container (with full HVAC and other
capabilities), an individually designed cluster of products to conduct
necessary diagnosis and treatment, and a replenishable supply of consumables
and medicine.

Three medical specialists are needed:

· MD – MPH

· PhD Laboratory Clinical Services

· MD – Epidemiologist

In an operating theatre where the fundamental health delivery system is in
shambles a number of challenges will confront this assessment team:

1) We will need to partner with the necessary indigenous and expatriate
health practitioner groups who will staff and operate these clinics.

2) We will need to determine the optimum range, quantity and cost of the
clinic equipment, instrument, consumables and pharmaceuticals required to
operate these clinics.

3) We will need to prepare for transport and placement of, power supply
for and security surrounding these clinics.

4) We will need to prepare a complete and comprehensive capital and
operating budget to submit to USAID following the assessment trip.
