MALARIA: Lesson 3
DRAMA:
Divide the students into groups of four. Each group may choose the story
from this chapter they want to dramatize. After they have practiced and
presented their drama to the group, the group should vote on the one which
best tells the story. This group can then give their drama in front of
the entire school, the village school, or the village. Arrangements can
be made with the principal or the village chief.
SONGS:
Suggest that each student makes up a song about malaria including the
symptoms, cause, prevention and treatment learned through the story. An
example of words to a song is as follows:
The leader tells the story in the verses. The rest of the group answers
in the chorus after each verse.
CHORUS:
Good health we want.
Let's all be healthy.
VERSES:
Fever is bothering me,
Mosquitos bring it.
Standing water around our house
Causes mosquitos to breed.
Let us take the children to the clinic
That they may stay well.
We take them to the clinic for Daraprim
That they may stay well.
Broken pots and tin pans
Let us bury them.
Sing several songs made up by the students before the drama is to be
presented
