Ground nuts and guinea corn are staple foods in Northern Nigeria which supply the needed nutrients. . . you may need to make substitutes in order to use foods common to your area.

1. Arrange with a local woman who knows how to cook ground nut porridge, to bring foods needed and cook before the class. (This is similar to gruel with a small amount of peanut butter added.)

2. Announce to students' families to come to class with their small children. Mothers bring small dish and spoon.

3. First the students give a drama about food for children.

4. Next demonstrate how to cook ground nut porridge, then give each child some to eat.
