VOLUNTEERS SOUGHT FOR GLOBAL HEALTH COUNCIL CONFERENCE, MAY 27-31

Each year the Global Health Council (GHC - http://www.globalhealth.org) encourages interested Council members to apply for positions as volunteers at its International Conference on Global Health. Referred to as the Helping Handz Volunteer Program, it is an opportunity to become involved in the day-to-day operation of the conference. While this program is an obvious benefit to the GHC, it is also tremendously beneficial to the participants. Volunteers receive a reduced conference registration rate which is a savings even if you need to pay membership dues in order to qualify. But they also benefit from being right in the middle of the action at the conference. There are opportunities to network with experienced professionals, to work with Council staff, to share experiences fellow like-minded volunteers and to contribute to the success of the conference. It is an especially useful experience for students. Volunteers do not spend all of their time working - the commitment is only 8-10 hours during the conference week, usually assigned over several days. When not working Volunteers are free to participate fully in the conference. In past years several CCIH members have taken advantage of this opportunity and have been very pleased with the experience. To learn more about the Helping Handz Volunteer Program go to http://www.globalhealth.org/conference/view_top.php3?id=824 or contact Kathy Marcotte, the volunteer coordinator, at kmarcotte@globalhealth.org.
