Supporting Frontline Health Workers
CCIH joined health-focused organizations in signing onto a letter to the leadership of the Senate and House of Representatives’ State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs committees supporting U.S. global health aid that focuses on the frontline delivery of healthcare services. Frontline health workers include providers at all levels from physicians to community health workers and the letter advocates for support for training, supplies, protection, and supportive supervision. The request does not call for increased spending, rather it calls for shifting existing resources from overhead and unessential upstream activities to the frontlines.
