Expanding Access, Funding Action: What’s New from Faith4CRH
By Carolyn O’Brien, CCIH Program Manager
Big news from CCIH’s Faith4CRH initiative
CCIH’s Faith Consortium for Climate Resilient Health launched our Faith-Based Climate Health Readiness & Adaptation Assessment in late 2025. We’re pleased to share that it is now available in French and Spanish, making it more accessible for faith-based organizations (FBOs) working on the front lines of climate and health around the world.
But we’re not stopping there.
We’re launching an open call for climate adaptation microgrants.
Up to $2,500 will be awarded to FBOs that:
- Complete the assessment tool.
- Develop a concrete climate adaptation action plan.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Organization must be a registered FBO with the focus of its operations in LMIC
- Complete the microgrant application, completed assessment (including action plan) to grants (at) ccih.org by July 10, 2026
Recipients will be notified in August 2026.
Need help getting started?
Check out this blog we posted last year and this webinar with more detailed information about the climate assessment. Additionally, CCIH has two disaster response consultants available for pro-bono support to walk your organization through the tool and planning process. Reach out to me (carolyn.obrien (at) ccih.org) if you are interested in additional support.
Looking for ideas to shape your action plan? This recent World Bank publication on climate adaptation “smart buys” offers practical, cost-effective interventions to consider.
And one more thing… Did you know that every $1 invested in pre-disaster mitigation saves about $6 in future disaster response costs?
This Earth Day, CCIH is kicking off a fundraising campaign to match microgrant funds to help more FBOs use the tool and be able to assess risks, protect communities, and build climate-resilient health systems. A gift of any size will support organizations to go from risk to resilience when extreme weather events occur. Donate here.
Explore the tool, apply for support, and join a growing movement to take action on climate and health.
