The Right Place at the Right Time: What We Learned from Supply Chain Strengthening of Six Faith-based Drug Supply Organizations

2022

On August 24, 2022, we explored lessons learned through a faith-based supply chain strengthening program in three countries: Cameroon, Ghana, and Nigeria. Six faith-based drug supply organizations (DSOs) participated in a supply chain strengthening activity supported by USAID’s MOMENTUM Country and Global Leadership. These organizations underwent a supply chain assessment, virtual leadership development course, and proposal development process over the course of three years. Representatives from the DSOs will discussed the unique role of faith-based DSOs, lessons learned and improvements made, and challenges that still exist. We heard from Fidelis Nyaah, Director of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon Health Services; Dr. Paul Amo Kyeremeh, Recently Appointed as Health Director for the West-Central Africa Division of Seventh-Day Adventists (Appointment began in September 2022) Jonathan Dogo, Managing Director/CEO of ECWA Central Pharmacy in Nigeria. The discussion was moderated by Michael Fleming, Senior Expert, McKinsey and Account.
